Lutherlyn extends the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ, by inviting all people to engage the Word of God, one another and themselves in an intentional, challenging, exciting, and fun outdoor Christian community centered in the grace of God and the goodness of earth and life.

In 1945, World War II left an estimated one-fifth of the world’s Lutherans homeless. Here in the United States, Lutheran churches in at least 20 states mobilized to help in Europe through a new agency called Lutheran World Relief. Now, with 100 local partners, LWR works to improve harvests, health and education in some 35 countries each year.

The Northwestern Pennsylvanian Synod is designed to provide resources and information for Rostered leaders, lay leaders, and members of congregations. Our synod is comprised of 80 congregations in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania. Our territory covers all or part of 15 counties; Armstrong, Cameron, Crawford, Clarion, Elk, Erie, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, McKean, Mercer, Potter, Venango, Warren, and Westmoreland.

The Northwestern Pennsylvania Synod authorized the formation of a group of volunteers to focus efforts on what it means to be good stewards of God's Creation. This group is known as the NWPA Synod Green Team. The Green Team’s purpose is to “raise awareness of and advocate for the care of creation”. Our mission is to support and encourage creation care ministries, raise awareness, model creation care advocacy consistent with ELCA teachings in our faith communities and public life.

Bethesda Lutheran Services provides promising futures for children, youth, and families through individualized mental and behavioral health services provided in a residential, school, or community setting.

Karagwe Diocese of the ELC in Tanzania is the companion Synod to the NWPA Synod. Pastor Oscar Samwel is the Pastor of the Ngara District. He oversees 22 Lay Evangelists who serve congregations much as a pastor does during the week and on Sundays.
