Areas of Ministry

Venango Youth Choir is a free choir open to all area children from Grade 1-8. The children learn basic singing techniques, how to play Orff and percussion instruments and how to read music. The older children learn how to play soprano and alto recorders.

Senior Choir for adult singers meets September through May and learns spiritual and service music to enhance worship and to provide spiritual healing through song and word. Senior Choir meets at 7:00pm on Wednesdays and 10:00am on Sundays before worship.

“Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing.”
Psalm 100:2

Community Outreach

On the last Tuesday of each month, Zion and Good Hope Lutheran churches of Oil City serve a free Community Dinner to the community from 5-6pm at Zion. No tickets or reservations are required.

Coffee Break offers a free donut, a hot or cold drink, and an opportunity to relax and chat with your neighbors. It takes place every Thursday between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.

Stay and Play is a free after-school program. Housed at Zion Lutheran Church. It is a year-round program that seeks to enrich the lives of children, K through 12, through tutoring, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) activities, positive social interaction with peers and adults.

ELCA Day of Service

“God’s work. Our hands.” This day is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.

Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.

"And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."                         Hebrews 13:16

Serving all in the manner of Jesus.
